DCJ hosts an interactive session with Prof. Farhat Basir Khan- Renowned Academician and Media Professional

Ganderbal Oct 01: The Department of Communication and Journalism (DCJ), Central University of Kashmir, on Monday, organized an interactive session with Professor Farhat Basir Khan, renowned Academician and Media Professional and current Professor at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. Professor Khan was formerly associated with AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi.

In his address, Prof Khan talked about contemporary trends in academic learning and the changing dynamics of teaching. He emphasized on the right use of technology in shaping modern social trends in academia and the need for sensitivity among individuals. He stated “There are two ways to increase sensitivity within oneself; the first is the reintroduction of inclusivity in sensitivity through the means of introspection, and the second is understanding the diversity and possible solutions for the same.” While concluding the session, Prof. Khan emphasized on the concept of authentic imperfection, which is a technique of actualizing one’s self in different spaces.

Prof. Dr. Shahid Rasool, Dean Academic Affairs and Dean School of Media Studies emphasized the need to conduct such sessions and encouraged scholars and students to interact with a renowned media academician and professional of national repute.

Dr. Arif Nazir, Associate Professor and Head DCJ, in his welcome address, introduced the resource person to the session. Dr. Asif Khan, Sr. Assistant Professor, DCJ, proposed the vote of thanks, extending his gratitude to the resource person.
